The Flash is an American superhero television series developed by Grreg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, airing on The CW. It is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds. It is a spin-off from Arrow, existing in the same fictional universe. The series follows Allen, portrayed by Grant Gustin, a crime scene investigator who gains super-human speed, which he uses to fight criminals, including others who have also gained superhuman abilities.

Plot

After being struck by lightening, Barry Allen wakes up from his coma to discover he's been given the power of super speed, becoming, Flash, fighting crime in Central City.

Characters

Heroes: Main

The Flash

Barry Allen (aka The Flash) was a CSI in CCPD, his mother was murdered by someone moving like lightening but the police didn't believed him and arrested his father for murdering his mother without any evidence. A detective, Joe West took him in and raised him. Barry joined police so he can work hard to clear the charges on his father. One day, standing in his lab he was struck by lightening due to particle accelerator explosion at star labs. He had become the fastest man alive! With his friends at Star Labs he fights crime and find other meta-humans like him.

Vibe

Cisco Ramon (aka Vibe) was Barry's best friend and was a technical engineer at Star Labs, he was the closest person to Dr. Harrison Wells (owner of Star Labs) as after the Star Labs explosion, everyone left except him and Catlin. He got his powers to vibe and create breaches to other worlds by the particle accelerator explosion. When he found out that Dr. Harrison Wells was an evil speedster who's real name was Eobard Thawne, and that he stabbed him in an alternate timeline, he broke down. Cisco is one of the most important character in Flash. He always tried to make his relations better with his brother Dante Ramon but was unable to do so.

Killer Frost

Catlin Snow (aka Killer Frost) was a biochemist at Star Labs, she got her powers after Barry reset the timeline and created Flashpoint. She became evil and allied with Savitar to defeat team Flash, controlled by her evil side, Killer Frost she almost killed Cisco. But she realized the mistake and joined the team again. She was able to find good inside Killer Frost and make her a hero.

Iris West Allen

Iris West was daughter of Detective Joe West and best friend of Barry. They both lived together for almost 15 years after they got married. Iris was the most important character in Team Flash and even after Barry was lost in Speed Force she became the team leader and started being the most important influence on Flash as whenever he made a wrong decision, she advised him.

Dr. Harrison Wells

Dr. Harrison Wells was a brilliant scientist and owner of the Star Labs. There have been 3 different versions of Wells in the series, the first one was murdered and his body was taken by Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash). He was an evil scientist from future who came to murder Barry but got trapped here and made a plan to use him to get back to the future. He was taken down by the Flash.

The second one came from Earth-2 and was here to help team Flash to beat Zoom. He was basically here because his daughter Jesse Wells was taken a prisoner by Zoom and he blackmailed him to steal Flash's speed and deliver it Zoom. Even though after some time he revealed every thing to Team Flash and helped them in every way to defeat Zoom and then later, to defeat Clifford Devoe (aka The Thinker).

The Third version came from Earth-13 he called himself H.R. Wells. He was not a scientist but he was an "Idea Man" he was the key player who saved Iris' Life from Savitar by a brilliant plan and sacrificed his life for the life of Iris. When he arrived, everyone hated him but later, he managed to gain the trust of team and proved his loyalty by sacrificing his life!

Detective Joe West

Joe West was a high level detective at CCPD who took responsibility of Barry Allen after the arrest of Henry Allen (Barry's Father). Though he's relationship with Barry wasn't good at the start but later they had a great time together. Joe West was the first person who actually believed that Barry was right about his mother being murdered by the man in lightening and was one of the first people to whom Barry revealed his identity as The Flash. He had two actual children, Iris and Wally and one adopted son: Barry.

Villains: Main

Reverse Flash

Eobard Thawne was a future scientist and enemy of Flash in year 2025. Somehow he got the knowledge of Flash's true identity and traveled back in time to kill him as a child but the future flash followed him into the past and saved himself so he murdered Barry's mother and ran away. He lost his speed this much that he could not travel back to the future now so he made a plan to take the body of Harrison Wells and make a defected particle accelerator so, through its explosion he could create the Flash and use his speed to get to the future. He almost succeeded in his plan but Eddie Thawne his ancestor shot himself and Eobard died as he was Eddie's descendant from future. But he somehow survived and started his task to get the spear of destiny along with Damian Darkh and Malcom Merlyn (In Legends of Tomorrow).

Zoom

Zolomon Hunter (aka Zoom) got his powers from the particle accelerator explosion on Earth-2 and became an evil speedster, he was obsessed with speed and wanted to be the only man with super speed in the world. When he found out that there was a Flash on Earth-1 he became angry and started sending meta-humans to Earth-1 to take him down and steal all of his speed. He also adopted the name Jay Garrick and became flash on his Earth and infiltrated Team Flash as Jay Garrick.

Savitar

Savitar was the future Flash as after Iris was murdered, he became sad and depressed. He became an evil speedster. He was imprisoned in speed force and came out by manipulating Wally West and Jullien Albert. He wanted to murder Iris but flash accidentally went into the future and saw Savitar murdering Iris, he did everything but could not save her, H.R. Wells saved her and that changed the future and Savitar was lost and future changed.

The Thinker

Clifford Devoe (aka The Thinker) was a professor who along with her wife managed to make device to enhance his brain. He became the smartest man alive. It is not explained yet that why he want to take down Barry but he has been successfully crumbling team Flash. He made a plan through which he has been taking down team Flash. He created meta-humans and took there bodies as host. His main plan is to wipe out intelligence in the world as he thinks technology is a cancer spreading throughout the world. But Barry took him down with the help of Marlize Devoe who switched the sides at decided to help team Flash.
