Date Aired: 11 Aug 2013
Hulk and the
Agents of S.M.A.S.H. is an American animated television series based on
the superhero character by Marvel Comics. The series premiered on August 11, 2013 on Disney XD in its Marvel
Universe block, and ended on June 28, 2015.
Main Characters
Hulk
Following his accidental
exposure to gamma radiation
during the detonation of an experimental bomb, Bruce Banner is physically transformed
into the Hulk when subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will, often
leading to destructive rampages and conflicts that complicate Banner's civilian
life. The Hulk's level of strength is normally conveyed as proportionate to his
level of anger.
Red Hulk
General Thunderbolt Ross, a recurring enemy of
the Hulk, was an United States military officer, the father of Betty
Ross, ex-father-in-law of Glenn Talbot, father-in-law of Dr. Bruce Banner, and was head of the
Gamma Bomb Project that turned Banner into the Hulk. After the creation of the
Hulk, Ross pursues the creature with a growing obsession, and after learning
that Banner and the Hulk are one and the same, Ross hunts Banner as well. In
2008, Ross was transformed into the Red Hulk in order to better combat his
nemesis.
She Hulk
A cousin
to Dr. Bruce Banner, Walters once
received an emergency blood transfusion from him when she was wounded, which
led to her acquiring a milder version of his Hulk condition. As such, Walters
becomes a large powerful green-hued version of herself while still largely
retaining her personality; in particular she retains her intelligence and
emotional control, though like Hulk, she still becomes stronger if enraged. In
later issues, her transformation is permanent.
Skaar
Skaar is
the son of the Hulk and Caiera the Oldstrong, who conceived Skaar during the Hulk's time
on Caiera's home planet, Sakaar. Following the Hulk's departure from Sakaar,
Skaar emerged from a cocoon, appearing to be the age equivalent of a human
preteen. A year later, he resembled a human teenager, and subsequently, an
adult, in both appearance and intelligence. He was raised and trained by savage
creatures of Sakaar and learned to kill in order to survive. He demonstrates
himself to be a fierce and capable general, and becomes the enemy of Axeman Bone. He later gains the power of the stone-based "Old
Power", which allows him to
draw energy from the planet itself. He comes to be seen, by some on Sakaar, as
a savior.
A-Bomb
Rick has been a sidekick
to the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Captain
Marvel (Mar-Vell), Rom the Spaceknight, and Captain
Marvel (Genis). He has been an active participant
in many significant Marvel Universe story lines including the Kree-Skrull War and the Destiny
War. Rick Jones had acquired powers causing him to
transform into a massive creature calling himself A-Bomb, but later was "cured" of his powers.
